Colour Streams by Robyn Alexander is a range of hand dyed silk threads, silk ribbons and wool felt squares in 50 beautiful colour combinations.

Robyn had been an embroiderer for many years and knows the value and wonder that unusual threads bring to your work. The delightful colours of a cottage garden, the richness of a Persian Bazzar or the imagery of antique Victoriana will come alive as you stitch with these exotic threads and ribbons.

Information on Colour Streams threads and ribbons from Robyn Alexander

These threads and ribbons have been dyed with silk fibre reactive dyes, steamed and washed several times. They are as colourfast as any professionally dyed silk fabric.

It is recommended dry cleaning for optimum care and continued lustre of all your silk products. To press, place embroidery face down, with the right side on a towel. Press carefully on the wrong side (through a towel if the fabric is delicate) being careful not to press the actual embroidery. Smooth the surrounding fabric. Occasionally, slight bleeding of colour may occur with the very strong coloured shades. If rinsing, always use cool water and if bleeding occurs, simply continue to rinse until the residue has gone. A little vinegar or bi-carb soda in the rinse will help to maintain lustre.

As the threads and ribbons are hand dyed, there will be some variation in colour from batch to batch.
Note: The above information is taken from the Colour Streams brochure.
