Useful Hints about Stranded Rayon: Rayon floss can be used on its own or in combination with DMC Embroidery Floss (Article 117). The last 4 digits of the Rayon Floss are the same as the Embroidery Floss numbers, making matching really easy. DMC Rayon Floss can be slippery to work with. Work with shorter lengths to avoid tangles & fraying (about 26cm or 12’’ ). If the thread becomes tangled, try dropping the needle and allow the thread to unwind itself. Lightly moisten the thread while stitching, this allows it to pass through the fabric more easily, as well as ensuring that the stitches lie evenly. You may even prefer to make each cross stitch individually, this will also help the stitches to lie more evenly. To help prevent the thread from slipping out of the needle, follow these simple steps: fold the thread in half, then thread both ends through the needle. Place the thread loop over the end of the needle and pull firmly to secure the thread at the top of the needle. Credit: Some of the above information is taken from the DMC web site.
